Welcome to our school website.

As I write this, I am reaching the end of my first year as Head of Churchill Gardens. Our most recent review in March found that we are a Rapidly Improving School. From nursery to year 6, our pupils are making exceptional progress, thanks to good teaching. We carefully monitor their progress and attainment and make sure we address any gaps in children’s learning quickly and effectively.

A walk around the school always makes me proud of what has been achieved. Adults and children work together, ICT monitors and staff ensure the new learning platform engages children at home and in school and children are engaged in a purposeful learning atmosphere.

Work is in progress to improve the facilities for our pupils in Reception and Nursery who will have new classrooms and unrestricted access to a fantastic outside learning space. The new building also houses considerable additional space for our wonderful Children’s Centre, which has strong and productive links with many of our families.

The pupils study a broad and rich curriculum that links subjects together and makes learning fun. We provide a wide range of extra- curricular opportunities, which are attended by 167 of our pupils. This includes a group of parents and children who will be taking GCSE Arabic together in the summer.

Visitors to the school frequently comment on the good behaviour of the children and the safe supportive environment in which they learn.
